Dentist - Dr. Peter Viznyak
Dr. Peter Viznyak graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1997. In January of 1998, he relocated to Northumberland and purchased his current practice in July of 2000. He brought his knowledge and passion for dentistry to his office to serve the local community. His commitment to continuing education allows him to stay current and bring new procedures to his practice.
Dr. Viznyak is an avid photographer. He lives locally and enjoys travelling, hiking and gardening.
Dr. Viznyak is committed to continual learning and is always engaged and interested in furthering his education and sharpening his skills.
Dentist - Dr. Christiane Geras
Dr. Christiane Geras graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany in 2011. There, as a clinical instructor and practicing dentist, she received and provided additional training in prosthodontics and operative dentistry. She is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and continues to educate herself on advances in the dental field. As a former figure skater competing for the German national team. she is able to apply vital skills and work ethic to further her knowledge in all aspects of her life and career. Dr. Geras is thrilled to be working with the professional and friendly team at Dr. Viznyak’s office. She is excited to provide a welcoming environment to patients of all ages. Dr. Geras and her husband, Alex, live in downtown Cobourg and enjoy spending their free time on the beach, exercising and cooking together.
Office Manager - Julie
Julie graduated from the Dental Assisting program with honours at Trillium College. Over the years she has gained experience in assisting, reception and office management. After working in the Durham Region for the last 18 years, Julie and her family decided to move east to the quiet town of Port Hope. She started at Dr. Viznyak’s office in July 2020 and is excited to join the team! When Julie is not working or running around for her children, she enjoys travelling, cottaging and skiing with her friends and family.
Dental Hygienist - Robin
Robin graduated with honours from the Dental Hygiene program at Durham College in 1995. She joined Dr. Viznyak’s team in 2000, bringing over 28 years of combined dental experience both in hygiene and assisting. Outside of work, Robin enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, as well as creating new recipes in the kitchen and enjoying outdoor activities.
Restorative Dental Hygienist - Leslie
Leslie graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 1998 from George Brown College. She furthered her education to become a Restorative Dental Hygienist in 2001. Since 2007, she has been working alongside with Dr. Viznyak using her restorative skills. She has completed courses in both Functional Orthodontics and Invisalign. In November 2019, she graduated from a two year orthodontic residency program with Dr. B. Rondeau. Her duties in our practice include restorative dentistry and treatment of orthodontic patients. During her free time, Leslie enjoys the outdoors and travelling.
Dental Hygienist - Sara
Sara graduated from Dental Assisting at Algonquin College in 2015. After five years of experience working as a dental assistant in oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and restorative dentistry. Sara furthered her education and graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Durham College in 2019. Since graduation, she’s been working full-time as a Registered Dental Hygienist, recently joining Dr.Viznyak’s team of dental professionals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family and friends.
Dental Hygienist - Jennifer
Jennifer graduated from George Brown College in 1993 with honours in dental hygiene. Her energetic and positive attitude brings light to our office. Jennifer takes pride in educating her patients about their oral health and brings years of experience in the dental field, complimenting her skill level. Her previous employment at a pedodontic dental practice helps greatly when she is working with children. In her spare time. Jennifer enjoys gardening, photography and spending time with her family.
Dental Hygienist - Alicia
Alicia started her dental career in 2015 after graduating from Durham College Dental Assisting Level 2 with honours. Later, she went on to pursue and complete the Dental Hygiene program at Oxford College graduating with honours in 2020. Outside of work, Alicia enjoys staying active and spending time with her two girls playing soccer or snowboarding.
Dental Assistant - Brenda
Brenda graduated in 1987 as a dental assistant from the Toronto School of Business. She joined Dr. Viznyak’s dental team as his assistant in 2000. Brenda completed a Hands on Implant training course and participated in an Implant study club. She is part of the intravenous sedation team. During her time away from work, she enjoys the outdoors and sports.
Dental Assistant - Shannon
Shannon was born and raised in the rolling hills of Northumberland County. In 2008, Shannon graduated from Trillium College in the Level II Dental Assisting program with honours. After spending several years in the dental field, she joined Dr. Viznyak’s practice in 2017.
Dental Assistant - Dianne
Dianne graduated in 2017 with honours from George Brown College’s Level II Dental Assisting program. After two years in general dentistry and four years in endodontics, she joined
Dr. Viznyak’s office in 2023. Prior to dentistry, Dianne worked in communications and magazine editing and writing. Then ten years ago, after her own dental work brought her a happier smile, she was inspired to turn to a career in dentistry. Outside of work, Dianne enjoys running, hiking, hitting the water on her SUP and back country camping.
Dental Assistant - Taylor
Taylor graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Durham College in 2021. She lives locally and is a proud mother of two daughters. She enjoys water colour painting, poetry and writing short stories.
Office Administration - Nicole
Hi my name is Nicole. I graduated college in 2014 with a diploma in Human Resources. Since then, I have gained experience in administration, accounts payable and receivables. In 2021, I decided it was a time for change and joined Dr. Viznyak and his team. On my down time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, boating, skiing and snowmobiling.
Office Administration - Carrie
Carrie graduated as a level 2 dental assistant from Durham College in 1999. With over 20 years of experience in the dental field, her versatility in dental assisting and administration is an asset to our office. With a cheerful and friendly demeanor, Carrie joined our team in November 2022. In her spare time, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family, playing baseball, skiing and reading a good novel.
Dental Hygienist - Beth
Beth graduated from Trillium College in 2007, but began her career as a dental assistant in 2004. Her passion for oral health and patient care led her to further her education and become a dental hygienist. With over a decade of experience in the dental field, Beth is known for her professionalism and expert knowledge while providing a comfortable and educational experience for her patients. Outside of the office, Beth enjoys reading and spending quality time with her husband and their son.
